What is Karnataka - SET?
Karnataka State Eligibility Test Centre, University of Mysore is responsible for conducting the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) every year. The KSET Exam 2023 is held to select candidates for the post of Assistant Professorship/lectureship in Karnataka. Karnataka SET 2023 application process will begin in February 2023 (Tentative). The candidates having a Master's degree or in the final year of a Master's degree can apply for the exam. The exam will be held offline. The exam consists of two papers with objective-type MCQs.
The first paper has 50 compulsory questions having 100 marks and the second paper has 100 compulsory questions having 200 marks. The exam won't have any negative marking system. Every year an exam is held in 41 subjects. Check the KSET Latest News here.
What is KSET Recruitment?
The full form of KSET is Karnataka State Eligibility Test. It is the entry-level test for Assistant Professors and Lecturers conducted by the University of Mysore. The exam takes place according to strict guidelines of the UGC for the selection of entry-level teaching based on merit and is held once a year. Candidates who successfully pass the KSET exam become eligible for posts of lecturers and assistant professors in several universities and colleges across the state of Karnataka.

KSET Exam Pattern 2023
The KSET recruitment exam is held in two stages. The main exam is an offline test, which is conducted at different centers in Karnataka. The questions in the KSET recruitment exam are of multiple-choice type. The test time is three hours.
The KSET recruitment exam consists of two sections - General Aptitude and knowledge, and Subject-specific.

KSET Eligibility Criteria 2023
Before applying for the examination it is important to check the eligibility criteria of the exam. Here we mentioned complete details about eligibility criteria. The candidate must have prescribed qualifications and an age limit while applying for the exam.
KSET Educational Qualifications
- Candidates must secure 55% marks in Masters in subjects for which candidate is applying in the KSET Exam.
- The minimum mark criteria for reserved category candidates is 50% in KSET Exam.
- Applicants who are pursuing the final year can also apply for the KSET exam, but they must pass the exam.
- Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s Degree (First or Second Semester) or candidates who appear for their Master’s Degree (Final Year) exam and candidates whose result is still awaited or whose qualifying examinations have been delayed also can apply for the KSET Exam.
- However, such candidates will be admitted provisionally and for those who clear the KSET, an eligibility certificate will be issued only on production of proof of having passed the Master’s degree or equivalent examination securing at least 55% marks (50% in case of SC, ST, OBC i.e., Cat- I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB) and PWD candidates) within two years from the date of the KSET result, failing which they will be treated as disqualified.
- Applicants who have qualified previous KSET Exam in any subject are not allowed to sit in the same subject.
- The Ph.D. degree holders candidates whose Master’s level examination had been completed by 19th September 1991 (irrespective of the date of declaration of result), shall be eligible for a relaxation of 5% in aggregate marks (i.e. from 55% to 50%) for appearing in KSET Exam.
- The applicants of other states except for Karnataka, belonging to OBCs (SC, ST & Other Backward Classes) categories will be treated as General Merit [GM] only. As per the reservation policy of the Karnataka Government.
- There is no upper age limit set for the KSET Exam. Candidates can apply after the age of 21.

The admit card will be made available only on the official website. KSET admit cards contain crucial details like the name of the candidates, exam date and time, exam venue, roll number, and date of birth. Candidates can follow the following steps to download the KSET 2023 admit card.

KSET Answer Key 2023
KSET Exam answer keys will be released on the official website. Candidates can check the answer key for the KSET Exam to determine their marks in KSET. Answer Key for the KSET Exam contains the question number and the corresponding answer for every subject. Candidates can raise objections after the release of the answer key for the wrong answer to questions.
KSET Exam Results 2023
KSET 2023 Results will be declared on the official website. Once the results are announced candidates can check the result on the official website. Applicants will check their results through online mode. Candidates to take the printout of the exam result for further admission. KSET Expected Cut-Off 2023
