  • What is TNSET 2023?

    Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test (TNSET) is a state-level examination held in Tamil Nadu. Annamalai University will be the conducting authority for the TNSET for the next three years, starting in 2021. The TNSET is being held for 26 different subjects to recruit candidates for Assistant Professor posts depending on their educational qualifications. Candidates who qualify the TNSET 2023 Exam can apply for the post of Assistant Professor or Lectureship in Tamil Nadu's universities and colleges.

    TNSET Exam Pattern 2023

    The TNSET consists of two papers i.e., Paper 1 and Paper 2. TNSET Paper 1 will be common to all the candidates, while Paper 2 will be based on the subject chosen by the candidate as per their educational qualifications.

    • The TNSET exam is based on the Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) pattern.
    • The total duration of the exam is 3 hours, out of which one hour is for Paper I and two hours for Paper II.
    • Paper I tests the General Knowledge, teaching capabilities, research aptitude, etc. of the candidate.
    • TNSET Paper 2 will test the understanding of the chosen subject as per the candidate's qualification.

    TNSET Syllabus 2023

    TNSET 2023 Application Form

    A candidate must register on the official website first before proceeding to the detailed filling of the application for TNSET 2023. Candidates should go through the instructions and eligibility criteria prior to filling in the Tamil Nadu SET exam form.     Steps to Apply for TNSET 2023

    Follow the given steps to fill out the application form for Tamil Nadu State Eligibility Test-

    • Visit the TNSET official website.
    • Click on the “Apply Now” option on the home page and fill in the basic details asked to complete the registration process.
    • After successful registration of TNSET, you will be sent login credentials on the given mobile number and e-mail ID.
    • Login with the credentials and fill the application form. The application will ask for personal details, educational qualifications, address, Photograph, Signature, caste certificate, etc. After carefully filling in the details, Click on the ‘ Submit ‘ button.
    • At last, pay the application fees for the TNSET 2023 ( Before paying the fees, make sure all the details filled in the application form are correct).
    • Take a printout of the application form for future reference.

    Candidates have to pay the fees according to the category. The fees details are as follows-

    TNSET Admit Cards 2023

    The admit cards for the TNSET 2023 will be released a few days before the exam. The candidate can download the admit card (hall ticket) from the official website using their Login ID and password. Candidates are required to carry the Hall Ticket to the examination center to appear for the exam.

    TNSET 2023 Answer Key

    The TNSET 2023 Answer Key will be uploaded on the official website once the exam has been conducted. The answer key can help you in getting an idea of your exam score. Furthermore, you can file complaints against the answer key in case of any discrepancy. If you want to file any objection against the answer key, you have to do this in the given time limit with sufficient proof to support your claim.

    Candidates who manage to score minimum qualifying marks in the TNSET exam will be shortlisted for the post of Assistant Professor in the state of Tamil Nadu. The TNSET 2023 result will have each candidate's name, roll number, exam date, signature, photo, personal information, section, and overall exam results. The results will be published on the official website after the release of the answer key.

    As per the previous TNSET Cut-off, Candidates whose score is in the top 6% (on both Paper I and Paper II) and have a minimum of 40% in each subject will be declared qualified for the position of Assistant Professor. The qualifying cutoff are given below-
